The coaching industry worth ₹5.3 trillion in India in 2017 itself, think what its net worth is right now.
Kota in Rajasthan, India became the hub of the coaching industry of India and it all began when the founder V.K Bansal founded the Bansal Classes in 1985. Right now coaching industry is itself contributing significantly to the economy of India. Some famous coaching institutes are Allen, Aakash, Catalyser, etc.
You came here to know which coaching institute suits you but:
There is no single coaching institute that is best for you. Frankly saying, these coaching institutes are not any educational industry but a commercial industry that loots a high amount of charge from you so they can give you their study materials, give their uniform, make-believe in you that their institute is the best.
Most of you may have come here to know about any particular coaching institute through advertisement, and you may found several district toppers, state toppers, national and international toppers but they will never show you how many of their students have failed, or didn't clear any particular examination.
If you look at the passed and failed ratio, you will come to know that more students have failed than passed from their institution.
What's The Truth?
The truth about how many have failed NEET (2018) from the well-known institute:
- Aakash: Around 65% failed, Just 2-3% makes it to Govt. hospital.
- Allen: Around 60% failed
AAKASH'S NEET AND JEE RESULT OF 2019:
Look at their ugly strategy for getting more students, 'Performance Excellence'.
1 out of 3 is just 33.3%
1 out of 4 is just 25%
More than 9 lakhs students applied for JEE Main in 2019 and only 110 got All India Rank.
There is no use in wasting lakhs of rupees here when you already know there are hundreds of thousands of students studying in the same institution because what lies here is the fact that all those students have paid lakhs of money to get into their dream colleges despite the fact that the selection rate is far lower than the actual number of aspirants paying money in coaching hubs.
Aakash has centers in almost every corner of India, so the matter of fact is true that as Aakash is densely filled up in many places, more and more students will rank high from their institutes.
Main Point:
In 2019, around 42.5% of total students who gave JEE advanced passed without coaching. Now, what is the point of wasting lakhs of money in a coaching institute which couldn't guarantee you about your future?
No disrespect to their faculties.
I recommend not to waste your money, time, energy chasing for these institutes. They are pure business.
If you want to clear NEET/JEE/AIIMS or any other examination, find the best mentor around you who can guide you exclusively, or else, many students passed these exams just by self-study.
Self-study is the best way to crack ANY kind of examinations, this is the reason why a large number of poverty-stricken students are cracking even the most difficult examinations.
The reason why self-study is best for you:
- It gives more time to concentrate on your mistakes
- You can study whenever you want.
- Your focus level automatically increases
- It helps students to directly figure out their doubts
- Makes mind sharper because if you were in a coaching institute, you are being taught by teachers, while during self-study, you are teaching yourself
- If a person learns by himself, more and more ideas pop up.
- You will feel motivated if you finished your syllabus by yourself
School is enough, why waste the other 4-5 hours in coaching institutes rather than studying by yourself. You can choose a dummy if you are quite serious about joining a coaching institute.
Some myths about coaching institutes:
1. Without Allen/Aakash/Resonance or any other institute, NEET or JEE is impossible to crack:
This is totally a myth, these institutions will give tons of modules, and even completing it will take so much time. Rather than wasting time reading their books, doing NCERT is enough to crack these examinations.
Rather than studying 100 books at a time, studying 1 book a hundred times is better.
2. The modules given by the coaching institute is the only book to study for competitive exams:
Our market has tons of books circulating widely in India. Though the study materials they provide are pretty good but still many people suggest that NCERT is the best no matter what.
So be sure to master your NCERT provided book and solve questions provide from the modules.
3. Coaching institute gives 100% on each student:
See, in coaching institutes, there are fewer faculties as compare to students, which is obvious. Due to this, and due to they work hard for hours to teach as many students as possible, faculties cannot give their 100% to each and every student, but they do try.
Most of the time, faculties give importance to toppers/ first benchers/ batch one. They get tired of prolonged hours of teaching.
-----------
The fact is that no one is going to make you learn things, if you have willpower, you can sacrifices for your dream, then not even coaching institute is required for you. Coaching institute will just waste your time staring and hearing to faculties for hours like a dead person.

I totally accept what you said in this article. Also, in many coaching institutes, there is a concept of shuffling. Because of that, the students who get good marks are put in top batches with the best faculty and the student with bad marks are put in lower batches with bad faculty. Coaching institutes are simply made for making money and producing the best result.
ReplyDeleteYes Shubham.
ReplyDeleteBasically, we can't say that all the coaching centre are having same fundamental procedures. some coaching centres provide too good mentors and help to improve bad students, like we provide solutions in the hard time of covid-19 to schools, www.schoollog.ai.
