How To Study In 10th For Board Exam? | 2022

I am now in 11th and my 10th  board has gone awesome. Due to the lockdown extension, the 10th board result is delayed.  As I mentioned that my board examination went awesome, so I have shared some of my easiest rules for studying and I am damn sure you will clear your 10th examination very easily, no need to panic about it.

Some points which you are going to get:

  • Study routine
  • Study materials
  • 5 common myths about 10th Board Examination
  • God rules for cracking the board exam (at last)

First of all, I am a student who hates Hindi the most while you may hate maths, science, or s.s. I know language subjects are easier for you but for me, it is something that I always mess up with mantras and grammar, grammar always screws me up.

So let continue,

1. Study routine:

No need to panic over your study routine. If you wanted to keep a study routine, then keep it light and simple for example, during school days, keep it up to 3-5 hours. During holidays, keep it like 4-6 hours. During your exam times (periodic or board) you can study up to whenever you feel you have done.

No need to keep any tight schedule during the 10th.

Once again, no need to stress much over your schedule. Play well, sleep well and study well.
Everyone has a different mindset and not all of you can follow any particular routine from any stranger. So providing you with a routine here will be a waste of time for you.

Only you can form the best routine, exclusively for yourself.

2. Study Material:

Board examination for 10th in the last 5 years were easy, so the 2021-2022 examination may be easy and similar to the previous examinations

I used to study from the following books: (extra books)
  • Manjit Kaur & Lakhmir Singh for science.
  • RD Sharma for math
  • Full Marks for English
  • Saraswati Vyakaran for Hindi (exclusive for grammar)
  • Nothing for social science (Read SS textbook)
  • 2014-2019 papers of board examination (oswaal and educart)

Did I finished the top 7 books? no! not even 60%. But you can keep the extra book for any particular subject which you find difficult.

For me, just ncert and sample papers worked. No need to purchase many extra books, just master the ncert book and if have difficulty, go for the above-given books.

3. Common myths about board examination of 10th:

1. You cannot clear your examination if you failed in school exams or  pre-board:

Not necessary, because I was nearly failed in my math in 2nd, 3rd term and was messed up in math in all the pre boards. But still, I managed to get 96% (math) in board. School exams will be a lot more harder as compare to your board examination, so no need to stress much. Make sure that you notice your mistakes.

2. You have to join a coaching institute if you want to score more:

Many students believe that a coaching institute is necessary for the preparation of the board. But trust me, it will be a waste of money, time, and energy. You can score high even if you don't join it. If you are preparing for NTSE with the board, then you may go for any good coaching institute.

Studying at home gives you more time to study and relax, because relaxation is important. I used to go to Allen during my 8th and 9th. It was a pain in the head for me. Faculties are awesome for sure but dealing with 4 hrs of coaching every 3 days, 7 hours of school every day with homework from both was so much pain in the head.

For 10th board: No need to enroll yourself in a coaching institute because school is enough.

3. Burning the midnight oil is only a way to score high in the board exam:

Don't exceed the time limit, study during the day, sleep during the night, and don't stress much. Because if you don't treat your body well, your body will reject taking the outside things such as studying. Everyone would be going through the same phase, so no need to stress.

Just make sure you are enjoying study, thinking study is a burden will further demotivate you, so think like you are going to ace your exam!

4. My own tips for students appearing in board examination:

  • Preach less practice more for math.
  • Make notes for science.
  • Read thoroughly your SS textbook.
  • Make sure to go through numerical in physics.
  • During examination days, do hard chapters first.
  • Don't panic, you are going to get more marks than expected.
  • Play more during school days!

PS: The author got more than 94 (94,95,96 and 97) in every subject except in Hindi.  So you can follow the above tips but look for other sources for Hindi.
