Know about IIT | IIT is overrated? | For IIT's Aspirants | IIT's Myths

IIT is definitely a dream university for 70%  of the population in India. Roughly, 10,000 students get selected for IIT every year which is pretty low for country with  more than millions of aspirants. People study restlessly and burn midnight oils to achieve their dream of joining into one of the prestigious universities in India.

Some of the famous CEOs from IIT are Sundar PichaiVinod Khosla and Manu Agarwal. The amount of time and efforts they have put to achieve such a great level and making our country proud, is truly unbelievable.

Following are the myths which may be useful for you before thinking of IIT:

Myth-1: Only 11th and 12th topper can easily get into IIT

"Kaun hoshiyaar hai, ye to waqt hi bata sakta hai"  (Only time can tell who is cleverer).  A topper cannot remains a topper throughout his/her life, same goes to a failure.People change from time to time. The one who have the strongest  will-power to achieve something, can even reach to the top, regardless of their current situation.

While it is true that a topper study more to achieve marks and have higher probability to get into IIT but do you know about Sundar Pichai? he got around 75% in 12th and now he is working for the top company of America and moreover, he is a CEO.

Never shatter your dream just by getting low marks in academic. Getting scolded by parent for low marks is temporary!

Ask yourself: Do I have enough willpower to  get into IIT? If yes, then you will!

Myth-2: IITs package is in crores, if not, then in half a crore

You may hear it from your family and relative that students in IIT get package in crore. While getting into IIT itself take a lot of dedication and hardwork, but still the average package is not upto mark. Average package is about 5-12 lpa.

Person with outshining talent may get a package of crore, or more than it. So expecting such package in IIT is not worth. Population in India is itself sky rocketed, so only less than 1% have the possibility to have a package of more than crore.

You can further do startup plan after getting into IIT which is pretty good, but at the same time, very risky because more than 75% startups in India has failed. This is because our system is not very serious about it, and mostly do favours of big businessmen.

Truth: Your ambition and luck play a major role here. You can get upto 100 crore, or landed with 10,000 p.m.

Myth-3: After IIT, JOB! JOB! JOB!

See, IIT will provide you the door of opportunities, but you gotta get up from your couch and open it. The fact is that the door itself have lock in it, you have to open the lock which is pretty difficult too!

You will get better opportunities than non-IITians for sure. But if you are still jobless, It’s a fact that not every IITian leaves the campus with a job offer. Yes, in a country that’s fulfilled with engineering graduates in droves, it’s difficult for even the top institutions to guarantee 100% placements.

Truth: Just have a look at 2015-16 placement figure of IIT Bombay B-Tech students. Total of 502 students who enrolled for campus placements, 79.8% received a job offer. Which means from 502, 105 IITians who enrolled up for placements to get a job couldn’t get a single one. So think about what kind of situation these students are going through.

Myth-4: IIT students get world class professor who can teach you better than their friends

I respect every teachers and professors, they work hard so that we could get a better position. But there are some or many professors who don't know how to teach. They may be master blaster in their respective field, but their lectures are rather boring. Some professor don't seem to have any energy left in them.

"Sab upar se nikal jaata hai sala" ,  this line is what most IIT students think about.  Before expecting that you would get the best professor, think twice. If you do not have interest in technologies stuff, don't expect that you will get goosebump during lectures in IIT.

Truth:  There are still many good professors, who teach with full enthusiasm. But do not expect that all would be good.

NO MORE MYTHS NOW!  Let finish with mood refreshing stuffs,

Now I will tell you what are the advantages of joining into IIT:
