Tesla is rapidly growing throughout the world. There are several proofs that tells us that Tesla will be dominating the automobile sector in the coming years.

The current chairperson of Tesla is Elon Musk who is currently the richest person on the planet earth with a net worth of 189.7 billion USD as of 8th January, 2021. If I ever have to say something about Elon Musk, then he's a self-motivated person, a person with a definite vision and inventiveness.

Why Tesla Is The Future Of Automobile Industry?

So till right now, we know very well that Tesla is an ever-growing electric automobile company. Its market cap value got a big boost during 2019-20 and still on. But this alone doesn't make a good reason for why Tesla will be dominating the auto sector in the coming years. Many giant automobile brands that uses internal combustion engines a.k.a. fuel-based engines are transforming into electric-based engine. 

Let's go into some depth and identify what will be the condition of the overall automobile industry in the coming period.


Future of combustion-based automobile companies:

The future of internal combustion-engine car brands is going to be catastrophic due to the following arguments:


  • Fossil fuels aren't going to last for much longer.

Fossil fuels are the source of energy and the fact is that fossils are running out at a rapid pace. Fossil fuels are formed from fossils. Fossils are dead and decaying of living species. The fuel which we use in our vehicles will be no longer available after 50 years if we continue to use it at the current pace. We are using fuels for all the sort of combustible engines which was evolved about a hundred million years ago. So just after 50-55 years from now, the next time people on earth will see the fossil fuels after a hundred million years.

Why are they running out? The demand for fossil fuels is ever increasing due to their wide ranges of uses-from running a vehicle to making goods in industries.

Our major transportation systems use fossil fuels. That includes rail, sea transportation, and truck. Without diesel and petrol, large-scale international trade would probably shut down. 


While commuter transportation could feasibly convert to electric rail or cars possible at a quicker pace, renewable energy cannot move enormous cargo ships weighing about 2.2 million tons (2,200,000,000 kg or 2.2 billion kg). We may not have to worry about it because human beings are quite an intelligent species, we'll definitely find an alternative for such massive cargo ships.


Though thanks to buoyant force which keeps that enormous ship on the surface of water (out of context*). Even International trade would grind to a halt, and foreign goods would become sky-high expensive or unavailable.


  • Produces more than one type of pollution.

Combustion is a chemical process by which a hydrocarbon (organic fuel) releases carbon dioxide and water. Although the products may not be harmful for the short term. But the problem worsens when the fuel doesn't get enough oxygen for combustion, which can release carbon monoxide which is a deadly gas. 

According to EPA, internal combustion vehicles generally cause 75% of carbon monoxide pollution in the US. Carbon monoxide's present can alter the abundance of greenhouse gases like methane and carbon dioxide.

Internal combustion engines also generate noise pollution. Altogether, it does notable harm to the environment and surrounding. 


  • Requires more maintenance and cost.

Internal combustion cars have moving parts so there's some sort of friction generating between the moving parts, whereas in Tesla, or in an electric car, you will not see any moving parts. Hence, in Tesla or in any other electric car, friction is almost null, and no sound/noise. 

It is obvious to say that movable parts can get damaged due to heat generated by friction (though not much for the car itself) and hence, the requirement for maintenance for combustion cars is more than electric cars  (say, Tesla). 

Even the price of petrol/diesel is ever-increasing due to its increasing rarity. 


Reasons which support that Tesla is the future of the commuter vehicles sector:


  • The CEO of Tesla is the most powerful (richest) person on earth.
As of writing, the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk is the second richest person and it's not a lie that money can buy almost anything, be it buying a better reputation by advertising a lot on the best ever electric car could be manufacture with the amount of money Elon Musk currently have. 

What not he can do with his more than enough money for his business?


  • Little to null bad effect on environment.

Electric car (say Tesla) doesn't produce any noise because it don't have any moving part in the engine at all. No air pollution like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide could be produced by the engine because it does not use fuel that undergoes combustion, generating smoke. 

The extraction of fuels causes degradation on a large scale, which could be prevented when people started using electric cars (say, Tesla).


  • No moving parts in an engine.
Due to no moving parts in an electric car (Tesla), there is no friction produced in the engine. Hence, the requirement for maintenance is lesser than internal combustion cars. It is true that electric car (Tesla) gradually lose their ability to hold charge as well as charging take more time than refueling fuel-running vehicle.


  • Electricity can be generated from various sources.
The most satisfying fact about Tesla cars is that electricity is a renewable source, which means electricity is non-exhaustible. Electricity can be generated from many sources like from sun (solar panel), wind (windmills), water (turbines), nuclear power stations, etc. We are still very much dependent on fossil fuels for the majority of energy uses.
